RHS Award of Garden Merit Roses
The RHS Award of Garden Merit, or AGM, is a UK garden-worthiness recommendation. For roses, it is helpful because RHS plant pages also provide UK hardiness, size, soil, position, and disease notes.
How to interpret AGM
- AGM means the plant is recommended by RHS for garden use under relevant UK conditions.
- It does not mean the rose will be clean in every humid US climate, heat tolerant in every dry inland climate, or resistant to RRD.
- RHS hardiness ratings are UK-oriented and should be translated carefully for continental North American winters.
- RHS plant pages may show trade names, code names, and synonyms, which helps avoid duplicate cultivar pages.
Wiki policy
- Cite RHS plant pages for UK fit, hardiness, habit, synonym, and AGM status.
- Pair RHS disease notes with extension or IPM pages before recommending treatment.
- Keep US and UK advice separate when pesticide products or legal wording differs.
