Garden Board Guide
Garden boards group rose media into a useful record: an ID request, disease check, RRD comparison set, pruning timeline, cultivar gallery, or seasonal progress log.
Good board types
- Identification board: whole plant, blooms, buds, foliage, canes, size, fragrance, and habit.
- Disease board: symptom timeline with healthy vs affected tissue and notes about care changes.
- RRD watch board: suspicious cane photos over time, plus nearby roses and verified comparison links.
- Cultivar board: repeated photos across the season, climate notes, disease pressure, and bloom behaviour.
- Pruning board: before, cut decisions, after, and regrowth.
Metadata to include
- Date of each photo.
- Location or climate zone if comfortable.
- Cultivar if known.
- Sun exposure, irrigation, container/ground, soil notes, mulch, and recent sprays.
- Whether advice is confirmed, suspected, or still uncertain.
Moderator use
Boards are useful for converting repeated subreddit questions into wiki examples. A strong board can become a cultivar gallery, a disease example, or a pruning case study once permissions and sourcing are clear.
