Belinda's Dream

Belinda's Dream is a Texas-bred shrub rose that combines a hybrid-tea-like flower with shrub-rose landscape use. It is worth noting separately because Earth-Kind sources describe both its strengths and damp-weather caveat.

Growing notes

Strong candidate for hot climates with room. In cool damp weather, black spot can appear, so do not present it as spotless everywhere. In containers, use a large pot and avoid crowding.

What to photograph

  • Whole plant from several feet away, including support or container.
  • A fresh bloom and an older bloom.
  • Leaf upper and lower surfaces.
  • Cane base, graft or own-root shoots if visible.
  • Any disease, mite, herbicide, or RRD-like symptoms with dates and weather context.

Common cautions

  • Large double flowers are useful for cutting but can be affected by wet weather.
  • Give the plant enough spacing for air movement.
  • Match advice to region, root system, and rose class before pruning or treating.
  • Use Regional Rose Care Tips and local extension or RHS guidance for climate-specific adjustments.

  • Add a tip only if it names the region, zone or climate cue, root type when known, and what worked.
  • Upvote tips that are specific and honest about tradeoffs; report unsafe pesticide or propagation advice.

Use controls lawfully: Current local product label/register wins for any pesticide, fertiliser, or soil amendment use.
